I gave Sunny a bath the other day. For such a small dog, he gets really dirty. While I was scrubbing the dirt out, I was telling him that dirty dogs don’t get to see Santa Paws so he needed to be clean. Don’t think he believed me at all. But he’s probably never seen Santa Paws as he was found as a stray running the streets. This will be his year to see the Big Man!

Hampton Roads Exotic Pet Expo will be held Sunday from 9 to 4. There will be all kinds of reptiles, arachnids, Bengal Cats, Hedgehogs, ferrets, and more at Pet Zone, 106 North Constitution Drive, in Yorktown. Viper and Peninsula Caged Bird Society will be there too. There will be seminars, vendors, adoptable pets, and raffles. Tickets are $5 plus tax online or $8 day of the show. You, and your pets, can have a Picnic With Santa on Sunday afternoon. Bay Beagle Rescue will be hosting Santa Paws at MSP Design Group in Virginia Beach from 11 to 3. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ, vhili, and home-baked sweets for dessert. MSP Design Group is located at 641 Phoenix Drive off of Lynnhaven. Pictures with Santa are provided by BBR and donations are appreciated.
Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is having their annual Open House on Sunday from 1 to 4. There will be face painting, the Furry Tree, free Your Pie Pizza, holiday games and prizes, and Santa. There will also be a Holiday Cookie Sale. Cookies are $8 a dozen and $15 for 2 dozen. So stop by and have some fun! The shelter is located at 6620 Jackson Lane in Gloucester.

A Taste of Heaven Sanctuary is having an adoption event tomorrow. They’ll have adoptable dogs and cats out to meet you at the Williamsburg PetsMart on Monticello Avenue. You can meet them from 11 to 3. This is a small rescue that pulls shelter pets from the Charles City Animal Shelter. They take them in, clean them up, and give them lots of love and good food. Then they find the right home for these pets. Let’s show them some support!
